Effective October 19, 2009, residents in select parts of Sturgeon County will start using a new mailing address as part of a transition to a Municipal Address System. Municipal addressing (the same address used for 9-1-1 emergency services) is based on the physical location of the customer’s driveway access (as determined by the addressing authority –Sturgeon County). These addresses are uniqueidentifiers of the property. This would ensure that every available address would have a unique mailbox of its own. This will eliminate the concern of duplication of family surnames and first initials.
