Municipal Addressing System
Canada Post Customers on Bon Accord Rural Route 1, Edmonton Rural Route 4 and Namao delivery will be receiving postal code and other important address change information this week. If you are on one of these routes please check your mail and if you have not received your new postal code, please contact Canada Post at 1-866-607-6301 or Sturgeon County at 780-939-8299. Or email civicaddressing@sturgeoncounty.ab.ca.
Thank you for your cooperation during this transition.
Municipal addressing (the same address used for 9-1-1 emergency services) is based on the physical location of the customer’s driveway access (as determined by the addressing authority –Sturgeon County). These addresses are uniqueidentifiers of the property. This would ensure that every available address would have a unique mailbox of its own. This will eliminate the concern of duplication of family surnames and first initials.
