Sturgeon Team Appreciation and Recognition (STAR)
The STAR employee recognition program is used by all levels of management to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of coworkers. The program consists of three components:
- STAR Praise
Verbal praise is to be encouraged among all coworkers and is the basic level of recognition within the program. Verbal praise is an immediate and personal way to recognize a colleague's assistance, extra effort, or good service.
- STAR Card
The STAR Card is a simple gesture of thanks, appreciation or recognition for a job well done. STAR Cards should be used to recognize an employee’s exemplary customer service, outstanding effort, exceptional people skills and consistent good work, or to thank them for going out of their way to assist you.
- STAR Awards
Each year a maximum of two awards maybe given, one to an individual and one to a team. Nominations recognize significant accomplishments and/or contribution over and above the norm that are performed as an employee or a team.
