Over the years, the pattern of land ownership has changed from a large number of individual agricultural farm holdings to a small number of very large industrial land owners. Land ownership is shown on (Map 3). Historically, the Plan area was owned by many individual interests that used the lands for crop production and care of animals. In the past three years industry has acquired lands that now total about 32% of the land base in the ASP.
